CLINICAL TEAM

Amanda

Clinical Director

Amanda assists Dr. Gust chairside with patients, takes records, and manages the clinical team. She is a native of Rialto, California and Stafford, Kansas and has been in general dentistry since 1994. She earned her certification in dental assisting in 1996 and expanded functions certification in 2004 for supragingival scaling. She joined the field of orthodontics as part of the Gust Orthodontics team in January of 2013.

Amanda's favorite part of orthodontics is getting to know our patients and creating an awesome environment for them to be in. She loves when patients complete treatment and see their “braceless” smile for the first time! Amanda enjoys working with Dr. Gust because of his kind and caring attitude towards his staff and patients.

Amanda and her husband Kelly have three children, Kaden, Kailey, and Aidan. In her free time, Amanda enjoys being with family and friends, going to the lake, camping, attending her children's sporting events and activities, and caring for her dogs.

Stephanie B.

Clinical Assistant / Lab Technician

Stephanie assists the doctor chairside with patients, takes records, and manages all lab work (setting up indirect bonding models, fabricating records models, making retainers and appliances, etc.). She has worked in the field of orthodontics since 1998, and completed training courses in Basic Appliance and Retainer Fabrication, Orthodontic Lab Soldering, and Biostar Essix Retainer Fabrication from Great Lakes Orthodontics in New York.

Stephanie loves to watch patients grow in the practice and see the end results of their orthodontic care and how it has changed their lives. Her favorite thing about working with Dr. Gust is that he loves to have fun with both patients and staff. “He is always more than willing to answer any and all questions I might have about a patient’s care or about an appliance I am fabricating,” she says. “I also love that he includes the staff in the patient’s care by thoroughly discussing their treatment with us. He is so encouraging to all our patients and always goes the extra mile to make sure the patient’s smile is perfection. We definitely live up to our motto of ‘beautiful smiles, exceptional care.’”

Stephanie is a native of Ness City. She has a son Austin, husband Talmage “Bud” Brown, and a very spoiled Yorkie named Tal. Outside the office, Stephanie enjoys going to car shows, working in the yard, gardening, being creative with her Cricket or diamond painting projects, and driving around in their Ford '57 Gasser .

Jennifer

Clinical Assistant

Jennifer assists Dr. Gust chairside with patients as well as during new patient appointments.  After spending many years in general dentistry, Jennifer joined the Gust Orthodontics team and the field of orthodontics in 2011 where she has loved watching the "transformation of smiles."

Jennifer says her favorite part of orthodontics is getting to know each and every one of the patients and helping them achieve the perfect smile they deserve.  She says Dr. Gust "is an awesome Dr. and strives to make sure people have a perfect result."

Jennifer is a native of Hutchinson, Kansas.  She and her husband, Todd, have three children, twin sons Talon and Cohen and daughter, Nataleigh.  In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family and friends, and going to the lake.

Kayla

Clinical Assistant

Kayla assists Dr. Gust chairside with patients and during new patient appointments. She joined the field of orthodontics as part of the Gust Orthodontics team in 2012. Kayla enjoys the personal connection she creates with our patients and the community. It’s fun for her to get to know the whole family and see all the smiles at the end of treatment.

Kayla is a native of Pittsburg, Kansas. She and her husband Joel have a daughter Taylor and a son Tate. Their pets include Butch a Boston terrier mix and a small herd of Boer goats. Kayla’s free time is spent with her kids’ activities, church, 4H Club Community Leaders, outdoors, and with family and friends.

Marcella

Clinical Assistant

Marcella assists Dr. Gust chairside and take records, including diagnostic x-rays and photos.  She entered the field of orthodontics when she joined the Gust Orthodontics team in 2014.

Marcella is a native of Hutchinson, Kansas. She and her husband, Dominick, are childhood sweethearts who are now proud parents to four children, Monica, Marcus, Mya, and Mariana.  In her free time, Marcella is an avid photographer and loves spending time with her family and friends.

Stephanie S.

Clinical Assistant

Stephanie began her career in dentistry in 2011 after completing her dental assisting education in 2010. She began in the field of orthodontics with Dr. Gust in March 2017. Stephanie assists Dr. Gust with patient care, including taking diagnostic X-rays and records, and makes sure her patients feel comfortable during their visits.

Stephanie finds great satisfaction in interacting with patients, getting to know them, and helping them through their procedures with great success. She also enjoys working with Dr. Gust and the team, saying, “They’re all great! Each one cares about the patients and each other, and Dr. Gust is great at what he does—making amazing smiles!”

Stephanie is married with three children. In her free time, she likes to hang out with friends and family, watch her kids in their sports and other activities, crochet, and run.

Ashley

Clinical Assistant

Ashley joined the Gust Orthodontics team in 2020 after previously working in general dentistry for 4 years.  She assists Dr. Gust chairside, takes records, and assists with models and retainer fabrication in the lab.  Ashley enjoys teaching patients about the importance of overall dental health and function and how having braces is not only about straightening teeth.  Her favorite part of working with Dr. Gust is "how kind and understanding he is towards patients and employees.  He is always going the extra mile no matter what it takes to make sure everyone gets the best smile they deserve."

Ashley enjoys getting to know the patients and seeing how much they grow throughout their treatment from start to finish.  "Seeing how happy they are, and knowing we helped them achieve the smile they wanted and deserve" is the best part of being a part of the Gust Orthodontics team.

Ashley is a native of Hutchinson, Kansas and currently lives in Nickerson, Kansas. Spending time with her friends and family is the most important thing to Ashley. She and her boyfriend, Tanner, have 2 Blue Heeler mixes, Turbo and Cowboy, who always keep her on her toes. She also loves being outside (summer is her favorite!) and enjoys watching her dad or Tanner race cars both locally and all across the Midwest.  

Angela

Clinical Assistant

Angela joined Gust Orthodontics in 2021, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in the dental field. She spent 2 years in oral surgery and 19 years in general dentistry before joining our team in the field of orthodontics. Angela assists Dr. Gust with patient care chairside as well as taking diagnostic X-rays and records.  Angela truly loves seeing the smiles "transform into perfection." 

Angela's favorite part of working with Dr. Gust is the attention he pays to detail, not only in his treatment, but in his relationships with his patients.  "He remembers all patients' hobbies and interests and engages with them during their visit. You can tell he not only cares about their oral hygiene and straight smile, he cares about them and their families as well."

FRONT OFFICE TEAM

Terri

Financial Manager

Terri is responsible for all aspects of our office’s financials and collections. She was born and raised in Hutchinson and has been with our team since April 2008. Terri’s favorite aspect of orthodontics is watching the transformation of the patients’ smiles and how it can change their lives. She says Dr. Gust “is an amazing orthodontist” and she loves the wonderful way he treats his patients and employees and the joy he shows when he completes a patient’s new smile! Terri’s favorite things about her job are working with a wonderful orthodontist and a great team.

Terri and her husband Al recently celebrated being married for 40 years. They have three children — Matthew, Alex, and Katie. Terri is also mother-in-law to Jessica (Alex) and Isaac (Katie), but her favorite title is "Mimi" to grandson Jeffrey and granddaughter Eleanor. Terri and Al also have a very spoiled fur baby named Fred (Poodle Maltese mix).

Terri has a great love for perennial gardening and enjoys reading, crafting, and decorating. More than anything, she loves spending time with her grandchildren, family, and good friends. Terri is also very involved in her Catholic faith and the community. She volunteers at the local resource center for the Annual Christmas Angel tree program, and has worked with Meals on Wheels, American Cancer Society, Red Cross, Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program, One Hope, and Dress for Success. 

Ann

Front Desk Coordinator

Ann is responsible for managing all business aspects of each of our office, in addition to coordinating all patient contracts and finances. She joined Gust Orthodontics in 2016 with more than 25 years of experience in the dental field. Even after so many years, seeing patients’ excitement and how pleased they are with their new smiles at the end of treatment never gets old!

Ann loves working for Dr. Gust because of his sincere appreciation and kindness that he shows to his staff and the passion he has for orthodontics. She also appreciates coming to work every day with to a team who have become wonderful friends.

Ann was raised in the small town of Little River, KS, but has called Hutchinson home since 1987. She is married to Rene and has two daughters, Audrey and Ali, along with two amazing sons-in-law, a fur baby named Gus, and is blessed with many grandchildren who melt her heart! In her spare time,  Ann loves spending time with family and friends, going to her grandchildren's sporting events, staying active with her church, and watching KU Basketball!

Vanessa

Insurance Coordinator

Vanessa is responsible for scheduling patient appointments and filing insurance claims. She has worked in dentistry since 2004 and joined the Gust Orthodontics team in February 2011.

Vanessa's favorite part of orthodontics is seeing the confidence in patients after they have achieved a perfect smile. She enjoys working for Dr. Gust because “he is the friendliest, most caring individual who does beautiful work while striving for perfection in his field. It is a wonderful thing to work for someone who cares so much for his patients and staff.” She also loves working with wonderful people and patients each day.

Vanessa is a native of Haven, Kansas and has lived in Plevna, Kansas since 2012. She has been happily married to her husband Jeremy since 2003, and they have three amazing children, Jordan, Laynee, and Corbyn. Vanessa and her family live on a farm with three horses, two special turkeys, and lots of chickens, ducks, and barn kitties. They love the outdoors; most weekends you will find them hiking, camping, mountain biking, horseback riding, or kayaking.

Shelly

New Patient Coordinator

Shelly is responsible for scheduling all new patients and answering any questions new patients may have leading up to their consultation. She also helps schedule all existing patients, works with insurance, and assists in all aspects of the front office area. Shelly joined Gust Orthodontics in 2018 bringing with her 18 years of experience in the dental field. Her favorite part of being involved with orthodontics is seeing the transformation of smiles. She loves making patients and families feel welcome whether that is over the phone or greeting them as they walk in the door. Shelly's favorite part of working at Gust Orthodontics is our supportive and friendly team!

Shelly and her husband, Brian, have two adult sons, Levi and Tyson. She is also mom to 3 dogs. In her free time, Shelly loves to camp every chance she can! She also enjoys boating, fishing, and being with good friends and family.
